Change Lab is a studio-based module situated within the gallery space at NCAD. Here, Global Citizenship Education is placed at the heart of our learning, shaping how we think, make, and teach as emerging artist-educators.

Over the course of three weeks, the gallery is transformed into a learning laboratory, a dynamic space where we engage in research through practice, exploring critical social justice and environmental issues. Through the creation of artworks and artifacts, we bear witness to the world around us, using visual language to investigate, reflect, and respond. This process positions us not only as artists and future educators, but as researchers, inquirers who use creative practice to ask questions, uncover meaning, and deepen understanding. In this integrated role, we come to see ourselves as artist-educators who are critically engaged, socially responsive, and committed to transformative education through art.
